May 8th – Breakfast at the Parlor House, followed by a tour to
to the Cumberland Valley Model Train Museum in
Chambersburg. Ed Wenger is our host.
May 10th – “Everything on Wheels Transportation Show and
Car Cruise In” at the Washington County Ag
Center from 9:00 – 3:00 to benefit Brooke’s House
and the Washington County Rural Heritage
Museum. Fees – trucks $10.00, Cars – $5.00.
May 12th – Mason Dixon Board Meeting at Ledo’s Pizza, 1423 Dual
Hwy, Hagerstown, MD at 5:30 PM. Irv Gish is our host.
May 17th – COVERED BRIDGE DRIVE – This is our main activity for
May. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate for a drive in your
old car. We are a car club, so come join us for a relaxing
morning drive on secondary roads beginning at the Valley
Mall in Hagerstown, sourt to Frederick area for a rest stop at
McDonald’s and ending at the Mountain Gate Restaurant in
Thurmont, MD for lunch on your own. We will be passing
through 3 covered bridges after the rest stop, and have a short
stop, if you want, at Catoctin Furnace. The morning will
cover about, 65 miles. We should arrive for lunch around
noon. Directions will be provided. You may call it a day
after lunch.
Saturday, June 7th, a car show at Wilson’s Store from 10:00 – 2:00. A sandwich for the driver of an antique vehicle and one passenger, is provided by the store proprietor.
Thursday, June 12th, the after breakfast at the Parlor House tour will be a trip to Painted Pastures, near Chewsville where they raise goats, and sell goat’s milk, soaps, lotions, and shampoos , as well as grow flowers for weddings.
June 15th is Sam Worley’s 104th birthday celebration from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 at 55 Sanibel Lane in Chambersburg, hosted by Sam and his son, Bill. You are welcome to stop by in your antique vehicle to share your best wishes. You will need to bring your own chair. Directions to 55 Sanibel Lane are in the newsletter.
